History and Geography: England is located in the south-east of the UK and its capital is London, retains links with its former empire through the Commonwealth and is historically and culturally linked to the US

Economy: service sector is the highest sector in England, manufacturing and primary industries are declining, construction industry is growing, economic growth provided by administrative and financial sectors.

University context

Specifics about the university (history, politics): This university is public, initial campus at Roe Green in Hatfield and originally a techincal college, in 1952 it was officially founded by the Duke of Edinburgh and the first large technical college to be established in England after Worl War II, designated a regional college in England and Wales by the Ministry of Education in 1961, it then became Hatfield Polytechnic and now the University of Hertfordshire.

When can I visit? When are exam dates? February 6th 2019 is a visit day and exams the first year are in the mid-september to mid-january period
